Palletization
The term palletization describes the process of loading and transporting goods on pallets. Originally, pallets were used by companies to facilitate the movement and storage of products within their manufacturing sites. They were also employed by transporters for loading cargo onto trucks. Eventually, a method was developed where several pallets, filled with cargo, were shipped directly from the sender’s premises to the recipient’s location, whether that be a factory or warehouse. This approach is known as palletization or pallet pool transportation.
The advantages of this method include improved efficiency in physical distribution for shippers and transport warehouse operators, as well as benefits such as simplified packaging, lower packaging costs, enhanced transportation efficiency, reduced accident rates, and decreased reliance on manual labor.
